In 2008 a report was prepared by Sustrans for Thorner Parish Council to show how the disused railway line might be opened up as a multi purpose route (walking, cycling and horse riding). Since then, regrettably little progress has been made.
A meeting has been arranged at Scholes Manor House, Belle Vue Road, Leeds, LS15 4AA, on Tuesday 28th October 2014 at 7.30 pm. The purpose of this meeting is to review where we are, and what we can do to progress the idea.
If this project is to stand any chance, we need to generate public support from residents along the whole of the route, from Thorner to, and including Cross Gates.
This is a meeting open to all.
