The Thorner Community Fund (TCF) was established in 2003 through consultation and joint working between Rachel and Nick Lane Fox, Festival Republic and The Thorner community. The TCF committee is made up of a small group of volunteers from the village. Over the years around 20 different volunteers have served on the committee.
The TCF committee currently has six roles: secretary, treasurer, ticketing, grants, database and oversight/governance. The role of Chairperson is selected from within the committee.
We are aiming to keep the recruitment process informal and flexible so at this stage we are simply asking for anyone who might be interested in supporting the TCF effort to let us know before 29th February 2024.
We will be seeking to recruit a treasurer/financial lead over the early part of 2024. The role will also include supporting the work of the ticket distribution exercise, grant awards and the wider work of the team. It will be demanding, deadline driven and time consuming particularly in the spring and summer months.
We have always welcomed additional volunteer help through the year. This has covered technical and financial advice, environmental improvement opportunities, publicity etc. and is not just limited to the main ticketing event. This has allowed us to tap into expertise in the village and also allowed those who support us gain some insight into how the operation works. Do let us know at any time if there is something you might be able to offer
Please contact Wayne Young using the email address below if you wish to discuss any aspect of the above
